CM Gehlot wishes public on Rajasthan Day, 1,200 prisoners to be released today

Jaipur: Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has wished everyone in the state on the occasion of Rajasthan Day on March 30.
In his message to the public, Gehlot said that Rajasthan is the second name of valour and bravery and this land is known for being the motherland of many courageous men and women.

Through its majestic palaces, forts and other historical monuments, along with its glorious history and rich cultural heritage, the state has carved a separate identity for itself globally, said Gehlot.
The Chief Minister appealed to all residents of the public to pledge their participation in taking the state to the highest echelons of development.

On the occasion of Rajasthan Day, the Ashok Gehlot-led Congress government will also be releasing around 1,200 prisoners who are at present lodged in the various prisons across the state.

“On Rajasthan Diwas, around 1200 prisoners undergoing punishment in jails in the state for a long time will be released before time. They include those who have undergone most of their punishment with good behaviour as well as those who have been afflicted with serious diseases, and old prisoners,” Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot said, India Today reported.

The decision was taken on Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s initiative and the inmates who are proposed to be released include those people who have completed most of their sentences with good conduct in jails, said an official statement.
