Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina resigned and flew out of the country along with her sister amid massive and deadly anti-government protests in Bangladesh.
The former Prime Minister of Bangladesh landed near Delhi at 5.36 pm on Monday, said a report by India today. Her departure comes weeks after the student protests which left over 300 people dead in Bangladesh. Soon after this, in a televised address, Bangladesh’s army chief General Walker Uszaman said that an interim government would take charge in the country.

After a renewed anti-government protest swept across Bangladesh on Monday, the country’s leading Bengali-language newspaper, Prothom Alo, said that at least 95 people, including at least 14 police officers, died in the violence.
Channel 24 reported at least 72 deaths.
The military announced a new, infinite confkurfew including the capital Dhaka and other divisional and district headquarters. The protests in Bangladesh began peacefully in late June this year as the students sought an end to a quota system for government jobs.
However, it turned violent after clashes between protesters and police and pro-government activists at Dhaka University. The attempts to quell the demonstration prompted further outrage. In defiance of nationwide curfew, thousands of protesters took to the streets for a planned long march to Dhaka on Monday.
Thousands of protesters strombed Hacena’s official residence at Ganabhagan, G-A-N-A-B-H-A-B-A-N, shouting slogans, pumping fists and showing victory signs. Previously, when the protests turned violent, the authorities were prompted to disperse tear gas, fire bullets, fire rubber bullets and impose a curfew with a shoot on site order.
Internet and mobile data were also turned off.
