Amid intense heatwave that has gripped the country, especially the northern region, how can you protect your skin?
Step-1. Consume a lot of fruits and fresh juice which helps your skin stay hydrated.
Step-2. Eat diet rich in beta -carotene such as carrots, spinach, lettuce, tomatoes, sweet potatoes and broccoli. All the yellow, orange and green leafy fruits and vegetables are rich sources of beta -carotene.
Step-3. The most important step of any skincare routine, we are a goods fragrance free sunscreen with constituents having a combination of both physical and chemical barrier protection. In India, especially during summers like these, SPF 50 broad spectrum sunscreen should prove to be very effective.
Step-4. Avoid overuse of cosmetics having high concentration of fragrances. Fragrances are made up of a combination of many chemicals which are not necessarily good for the skin.
Step-5. Avoid wearing tight synthetic occlusive clothes as they might lead to skin allergies in this hot summer where people usually sweat a lot more than usual.
Step-6. Drink at least 10 glasses of water daily. Another important advisory is avoid going out if possible between 11 .30 am and 3 pm especially if you are on antibiotics like ofloxacin and other fluoroquinolones. A few painkillers also have photosensitizing effects.
